Navigating A.I. Pitfalls in Logistics

Sep 2, 2026

Jeremy Taylor and James Kinniburgh will explore how logistics companies can adopt AI strategically, safely, and with measurable results. As AI evolves from simple copilots to agents capable of interpreting documents, monitoring exceptions, and acting across workflows, knowing where to start—and what to avoid—is more important than ever. With Jeremy Taylor bringing insights from his Kellogg Executive Education training in AI strategy, alongside James Kinniburgh’s 25+ years of logistics industry experience, this is a session designed to move beyond the AI hype and focus on what actually works.

21st Int. Conference - Istanbul, 2025

Istanbul, TurkeySep 16, 2025 - Sep 19, 2025

SCN once again managed to join ideas, shipments and enthusiasm together in a new city as we explored the logistics of Istanbul and the world in general with a Turkish flavour. There are few better ways to open an SCN Conference than by stepping straight into the city itself with a city tour. After a brief visit to Galata Tower, we later gathered for the city tour as a perfect ice-breaker—part history lesson, part bonding session, and part “who can avoid the bazaar without buying spices.” The Welcome Reception that evening was classic SCN—warm greetings, clinking glasses, and enough laughter to forget about jet lag. The buzz was back, and so were the stories of journeys to get to Istanbul and those made during the past year Conference day opened with a bang: new members proudly introduced and Turkish market experts offering sharp insights. Time for the veterans to lean in and see what's new and happening around SCN and the region. SCN continues to encourage all the network to participate with their views, for which the break out sessions allow for multiple inputs and group conversation. This time on AI implementation in quoting, Sales management, procurement and developing in Africa. Our thanks to all who made the conversations productive. Then came the one-to-one meetings—the true engine of SCN. Tables filled, hands shook, and business cards flying fast. The atmosphere was serious but never stiff: deals in the making, partnerships forming, and plenty of "Thanks" for successful collaborations. The evening saw everyone dressed to impress for the Gala Dinner. Turkish flavours on the table, music in the air, and yes—dancing. Some moves traditional, others… less so. But all in good spirit. Day two doubled down with more meetings, fuelled by coffee and ambition. Then, just as the energy peaked, the Bosphorus dinner cruise took over. Bridges glowing above, the city sparkled. Thanks to Istanbul for a great backdrop to more dancing (both from members and the offical ones). Networking at its scenic best. Final meetings wrapped it up—tired faces, fuller notebooks, stronger connections. Istanbul gave us culture, flavour, and a backdrop for collaboration that will ripple through the year ahead. The SCN Community once again proved it can blend business, friendship, and a little fun into one unforgettable mix. 📸🎥 Relive the Moments! SCN Digitalization Meet Up

New Orleans, USAMar 20, 2024 - Mar 22, 2024

We need to talk about digitalization! We know it’s all of us. In these times of great digital progress, the number of tools available for us in logistics as in other aspects of life can be CONFUSING…or even ANNOYING! We need more OPEN conversation that brings together forwarders and providers, so that not only can providers explain what their services can do, but so we have a frank response from forwarders and users of the digital tools, to make sure the providers continually adjust to the needs of forwarders. That’s what we’re all about in SCN. Debate and conversation to aline more closely demands and supply of services among our community. To recommend not only solutions, but to include USERS and CLIENTS of the solutions as a reference point to SCNers around the world. And THAT is precisely what was achieved in New Orleans, with SCN’s Digitalization Meet Up. Digital solutions on TMS, AI, tracking, data processing, payments, client portals and much much more. More than interesting pitches, two days of client interactions and learning of what works, when it works and what is needed to make it work. Many thanks to our varied digital solutions who were prepared to put their solutions in the SCN Hot Seat so we could discuss how useful they could be: SCN continues to look at new formulas to create more conversation and networking in logistics. Many thanks to all the forwarders and vendors who joined us in this new format of logistics event. Join us for more networking at SCN!
